What is likely happening is Windows being too smart for it's own good, installs a driver that satisfies the need for a driver, but isn't one that works. Yeah if the directions weren't followed, a reinstall will be needed. Then follow the instructions and don't just hit 'ok' as the windows pop up. Then connect it to the computer, and start the driver install. So I'd recommend uninstalling the driver, removing the device from the computer while doing so. So I assume it's meant to be connected while the driver is being installed, then disconnected and reconnected (and/or a reboot). During the install it mentions having to unplug the device and restarting the computer (or something like that).

There is a youtube video showing some guy installing it, presumably on Windows 10 though. That's why I was mentioning it should be included with the unit itself I was pretty sure I hadn't seen the info online, and only saw it on those cards when I opened the box. I went looking and I don't see that information on the 'Behringer' site. :) Then I had to remove it all and start over. I ignored the latter part and messed up the driver install. I don't think it was a manual, but just a card or two explaining about the hotfix and about following the specific steps about when to connect the device during the driver install. It will become apparent, soon enough, I'm sure. So, it just been sitting there in it's box. See, I bought the unit about two months ago just to use a lappie for this Simi Valley gig, just to trigger some samples. Man, I used my Google-fu to try to find a manual proper, but couldn't find one, other than the quick start. Yes, I ran into that and had to d/l the hotfix, so got that taken care of. Then there was the part about when to connect the device during the driver install, which was also important. This information was included on a piece of cardboard included in the box, as part of the install instructions. So I had to download that file (from MS), install it, then proceed with the install of the drivers. On my friend's computer, it wasn't already installed despite his Windows 7 being up to date.

There was some Windows component it required, part of a Windows update which may or may not be on your computer (since I think it was optional). I'm remembering something about the install.
